My Protective Angel....Avi..a little rememberence

In 1979 after reading a book by an amazing man Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh I decided to go to India to meet with Him that was my birthday gift to myself. I had no idea..how I would make it to Poona but somehow I trusted...there I was standing in the New York airport surrounded by crowds of people...wearing flat shoes for this first time in my adult life {birkenstocks} & decked out in an orange shirt.I just assumed all these folks where going to meet my man. I felt a tap on my shoulder and this… Continue

The 25 Words...

When I first began seeing Bob as a client, he challenged me to write out he way I wanted to live in 25 words. I expect he challenged many of you to the same thing. Mine feel like an infant, trying to form her first vocal realities. But I want to share them, in hopes that those of you who feel comfortable will share theirs with me.

Magical, fluid dancer. Jettes, bends but does not break. Melody in discordance.

I only met Bob for a moment

It was a pretty sunny day in Marin, Nina was exhibiting her sculpture at an outdoor art show. He was in a warm discussion with her so I just said hello.

While I never got to know Bob directly I feel like I know his essence. My friend Nina transmitted his humanity and wisdom through hers and her stories of him. He must have been a positive affirming force in the lives of those fortunate enough to have shared time with him. Something there is not enough of in this troubled world.

I look… Continue

"Original Face Book"

Dear ones,

I wanted you to be the first and last to know that I am now and always have

been listed on "Original Face Book".

There is no profile. Who would it be for?

There are no interests or for that matter disinterests.

Who would have them?

There are no invitations.

Who would make or receive them?

In fact as I think of it, Nothing has changed.

It never does!

Then why, you might rightly ask, mention it.

Well because I just… Continue

A Poem from Uncle Bobby

Uncle Bobby sent David and me this poem when we got engaged in 2000. We've treasured it ever since.

Once the realization is accepted
That even between the closest
Human beings
Infinite distances continue
To exist
A wonderful living side by side
Can grow up
If they succeed in loving
The distance between them
Which makes it possible
For each to see the other
Whole against the sky

A Haiku from Uncle Bobby and Anna

Uncle Bobby and Anna gave us this haiku at our wedding in 2001.

Through all life's seasons
may you always remember,
that love chose this path.

....a poem for Avi/Bob and George, reunited, taking up where they left off...

IN THE GARDEN AT THE WHITE TABLE

In the garden at the white table,

two dead men were sitting in the midday heat.

A branch stirred above them. One of them pointed out

Things that have never been.

The other spoke of a great love

with a special device to keep it functioning

even after death.

They were, if one may say so, a cool

and pleasant phenomenon

on that hot dry day, without sweat

and without a sound. And only

when they… Continue

Remembering Avi

I remember a small poster in Avi's living room...

"One day while walking through the wilderness a monk stumbled upon a vicious tiger. He ran but soon came to the edge of a high cliff. Desperate to save himself, he climbed down a vine and dangled over the fatal precipice. As he hung there, two mice appeared from a hole in the cliff and began gnawing on the vine. Suddenly, he noticed on the vine a plump wild strawberry. He plucked it and popped it in his mouth. He remarked, 'How… Continue

Zen Calendar from Chandrika

for our bamboo bobby!
A monk asked Ts'ui-wei about the meaning of Buddhism. Ts'ui-wei answered: "Wait until there is no one around, and I will tell you." Some time later the monk approached Ts'ui-wei again, saying, "There is nobody here now. Please answer me." Ts'ui-wei led him out into the garden and went over to the bamboo grove, saying nothing. Still the monk did not understand, so at last Ts'ui-wei said: "Here is a tall bamboo; there is a short one."
