Mystical Poetry Evening with Kaveen

 

                 "The small man builds cages   

                    for everyone he knows.

                     While the sage,

                    who has to duck his head when

                         the moon is low,

                   keeps dropping keys all night long

                    for the beautiful, rowdy prisoners."

These poems are those keys the sages have dropped for us. We can use them to unlock the cages of our minds and be free, turning the lock with a gentle twist of our hearts.

 

The Mystical Poetry Evening is Saturday, January 15th at One Center Yoga, 120 Coxe Ave, Asheville NC. The event begins at 7:00 PM and the uniqueness of this evening is that the poetry will be accompanied by live music.

 

I have selected about 10 brand new poems I have not recited before for this occasion and  mixed 12 or 14 of my favorites that lend themselves to the music and the theme of the night. What is the theme of the night? As always, Acceptance, Surrender, Opening to Life's full embrace.

 

Tickets for this event go on sale TODAY at Malyprop's bookstore. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door the evening of the 15th.

 

So come on you rowdy prisoners, come join me for a night of mystical poetry accompanied by flute and drum. I look forward to us gathering to celebrate beauty and spirit,
