Redirect my heart
For it cannot think
Show it a new way
A new nothingness
Redirect my soul
To it's rightful path
Amidst the waters
Of the mountain streams
Towards it's forever
Redirect my mind
To a right purpose
To correct focus
To a better place
Let it happen now
Redirect my love
As a conduit
For the highest good
I still need your help

Remain in peace in the unity of God and walk blindly in the clear straight path of your obligations...
If God wishes more from you his inspiration will make you know it.

Thanks, bhasa, isn't it cool? And my apologies, the daughter's name is Annie, and she's quite talented.

The other day my 17-year-old artist daughter sat down and, with nothing in mind, produced this pastel. I begged her for it because, to me, it represented the magical, mischievous spirit of Bob proclaiming, "THE GOOSE IS OUT!"

Where is the laughter
The spontaneous laughter
The constant giggle
And the reminders
All the brilliant reminders
Much needed wisdom
You gave us so much
All your gifts keep on giving
Every word and smile
You shine through your love
It’s up to us to feel it
We’re still connected
Once we’re together
Then we’re always together
Love lasts forever

I woke up not remembering. Nina reminded me in her email and now I realize my temporary amnesia was his doing, his wish to spare me the sentimentality I easily fall prey to and due to which I shed torrents of tears, like now. It was always his preference to ignore birthdays (his own as well as others') but he played along when it was necessary (or was told to). For his last birthday we walked twice around the Park and then went to see "South Pacific" at Lincoln Center. He sang the tunes from…

It's been so hard to check this site for months.
But today at 2:45am... I showed up.
Beatles' songs fill my head.
Your smile. Your laugh. Your eyes. Your voice.
There is no day that goes by without you.
I love you
It's all I can say.
Oh and by the way, Happy Birthday.

i am finding it hard to leave 2009 behind,
fearing that i am leaving you there,
as if you will not go with me,
into this next new year,
you might say to me,
"make it up
differently
so you can feel better",
so avinashoney,
time is forever, time is now,
here it is 2010,
happy new year!
happy new decade!
happy new every moment!

one of the last things aldous huxley said to huston smith was,
"it's a little embarrassing to have spent my whole life
pondering the human situation
and to find myself in the end
with nothing more profound to say
than ... "try to be a little nicer"

Avinash Remembered
I called him Avinash, a name bestowed upon him from a spiritual teacher we shared.
Avinash means indestructible. His full spiritual name was
Anand Avinash, “indestructible bliss.”
He embodied that quality with seeming ease.
I also called him the Ahimsa man for he had a fondness for the remembrance of non-violence.
That was how he lived, non-violent.
From that non-violence a rich kindness and compassion arose.
Not out of… Continue

Our most favorite meal was breakfast. We would sit across from each other at the table in the dining room, which was our favorite room in the house in New Jersey because it was flooded with light and because I had designed it exactly to suit our life style. We would have coffee (which he would prepare before I even got up) and oatmeal with berries and talk, talk, talk. We talked about the absurdities of the world, about our thoughts on current events in the world as well as in our lives, he…

this note is an excuse
to say nothing to you
you have meant nothing to me
for so long now
it's time to give nothing
back to you
and remember
you can
take nothing
with you
when you go ...
i love you so ...
great gratitude
and
undying appreciation
and love ...
forever ...

how could anyone ever tell ... you are anything less than beautiful
how could anyone ever tell ... you are less than whole
how can anyone fail to notice ... that your loving is a miracle
how deeply you're connected to my soul

here are some thoughts about life and death written by Lloyd J. Thomas, Ph.D.
As I write this column, it was yesterday that Senator Edward M.
Kennedy was "laid to rest" in Arlington National Cemetery. His death
reminded me of a column I wrote several years ago. I want to update
and reprint it today.
There are over 3 billion people on earth and everyone, without
exception, will be dead within this lifetime. Today alone, over
250,000 have died. We…

hi marge, it took me awhile to discover how to reply to you but here i am. hope you can find me here. thank you for asking me about more info on detachment. just to say, one way i keep up with these concepts regularly is to read the monthly magazine called "shambhala sun". i read it from cover to cover, including every advertisement as well. i get so much from this magazine. every word is a meditation for me. and the articles are so well said. the inspiration for the magazine originally is…

It is six months today
that my world came to an end
how am I still here?
I am here because
I am here because I am
here - you taught me this.
