I feel Avi here
unsuppressable by death
heart like the open sky
I was at this Hollywood spirituality event last night, where Eckhart Tolle and many others spoke. During the inevitable spiritual schmoozing afterwards, someone mentioned the idea of being limited by our beliefs. I walked up to this group of almost celebrities and wannabe's and repeated Avi's last performed haiku...
you do understand
that which you believe
you are doomed to live?
People nodded like crazy and said, "Exactly!" One asked, "Who are you quoting?", hoping to discover the next hot guru.
I replied, "A true master. One you will never know because he did not seek celebrity."
