a poem that reminds me of how fragile life, while with my Mom after my Dad had changed form (died 8-15-04), she still grieving:

Anna, I understand the void...yet, I see your strength as you move about your day, one step at a time....
written 3-5-06 after reading her some poetry about Dad, then watching the tears that fell ...(she died April 12, 2006)

I stepped into another Universe,
wetness streaming down my face,
as I recited the poetic words to
my mother of 82
Together we sat in a dense fog
of garbled unspoken aching,
that speared both broken hearts
Dad, yes, we both helplessly,
hopelessly, intensely melted into
your physical disappearance,
And felt you cradle us together,
Rocking back toward Mother
Earth once more.

Susan, that is amazing. What a great image of pain you created here. Bravo!
